Meet Dr. Sekijima
About:
Dr. Sekijima completed her undergraduate studies at University of Washington, and in 2013 she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Graduating in the top of her class, she received the President’s Award for superior scholastic attainment and active participation in the student community, as well as the Clinical Excellence Award for compassionate and quality patient care. She then made her way back to the PNW for her general practice residency with Swedish Medical Center.
Words from Dr. Sekijima:
A career in this profession has been my aspiration since middle school. It is a great privilege to practice dentistry, and I am passionate about providing compassionate, quality dental care and am committed to excellence and lifelong learning. I believe that communication and partnership between dentist and patient, as well as active participation on both parts, can not only achieve oral health, but also empower patients to make oral health decisions that are right for them.
I count myself blessed not only to get to do what I do, but all the more so by the opportunity to further invest in our community. My husband and I both have strong ties to the area. My parents wanted to raise their family in the greater Seattle area where they and their parents were born and raised. Even closer to home, my husband, Jonathan, grew up in Lake Forest Park and is a King’s School alumnus. We happily set our own roots in Shoreline when we married, and are thankful to raise our son and daughter in our wonderful community. You may often find us playing at Hamlin Park, watching the seaplanes at Log Boom Park, or enjoying the scenery, trains, rocks, and water at Richmond Beach. We are also big Disneyland fans (…fanatics).
